HAIR BUNDLE CARE GUIDE
How to Properly Care for Your Her Royal Hair Bundles
Whether you are new to hair extensions or have worn them before, proper care is essential for maintaining the appearance, softness, and longevity of your hair.
Her Royal Hair extensions are made from human hair and require regular moisture, gentle handling, and proper maintenance. Because extensions are no longer attached to the scalp, they do not receive the natural oils produced by your scalp and may require additional moisture and care.
With the right routine, you can help your extensions remain soft, healthy-looking, and beautiful for as long as possible.
BEFORE INSTALLATION
Inspect Your Hair
Before installation, carefully inspect your hair extensions while they are still in their original condition.
If you notice a concern with your order, please contact us immediately before the hair has been installed, washed, chemically processed, cut, or otherwise altered.
For more information, please review our Return & Exchange Policy.
Washing Before Installation
If you choose to wash your bundles before installation, use a gentle, moisturizing shampoo and conditioner.
Allow the hair to dry completely before installation.
Washing the hair before installation can also allow you to become familiar with the hair’s texture, pattern, and condition.
DURING INSTALLATION
We recommend having your extensions installed by a qualified professional.
When installing weft extensions:
- Avoid unnecessary cutting of the weft.
- Cut the weft only when necessary for the installation.
- Avoid excessive tension on the weft.
- Handle the weft gently.
- A professional weft sealant may be used where appropriate to help minimize shedding from cut areas.
After installation, gently brush through the hair to remove any loose hairs that may naturally shed during handling.
GENERAL
IMPORTANT NOTE
The lifespan and condition of hair extensions may vary depending on the hair texture, length, installation method, frequency of wear, styling routine, products used, chemical processing, and individual maintenance routine.
Proper care can help extend the life and maintain the appearance of your hair extensions; however, Her Royal Hair cannot guarantee a specific lifespan for any hair product.

HAIR CARE
Washing Your Hair
Wash your extensions as needed based on your hair texture, lifestyle, product use, and installation method.
To wash your extensions:
- Gently detangle the hair before washing.
- Thoroughly wet the hair with lukewarm water.
- Apply a gentle, moisturizing shampoo.
- Cleanse the hair gently without aggressively rubbing or tangling it.
- Rinse thoroughly.
- Apply a moisturizing conditioner, focusing on the mid-lengths and ends.
- Leave the conditioner on according to the product instructions.
- Rinse thoroughly.
- Gently squeeze out excess water.
- Allow the hair to air-dry whenever possible.
Do not aggressively massage, rub, or pile the hair on top of your head while washing, as this may cause unnecessary tangling.
DETANGLING YOUR HAIR
Always detangle gently.
- Separate the hair into manageable sections.
- Start at the ends.
- Gradually work your way upward.
- Use a wide-tooth comb or suitable extension-friendly brush.
- Avoid pulling or forcing a brush through tangles.
For installed extensions, support the hair near the attachment area while brushing to reduce unnecessary tension.
DEEP, LOOSE CURLY & SOFT KINKY TEXTURES
Curly and textured hair extensions require special care to help preserve their natural pattern and reduce frizz and tangling.
Washing & Conditioning
- Thoroughly wet the hair.
- Apply a moisturizing conditioner.
- Gently detangle from the ends upward using your fingers or a wide-tooth comb.
- Allow the conditioner to sit for several minutes.
- Rinse thoroughly.
- Gently scrunch the hair to help enhance the natural curl or wave pattern.
- Apply a small amount of a suitable leave-in conditioner or lightweight, alcohol-free anti-frizz product if needed.
- Allow the hair to air-dry.
Avoid using excessive amounts of heavy oils or products, as buildup may weigh down the hair and contribute to tangling.
Important
Avoid brushing or combing curly textures when they are completely dry if you want to preserve the curl pattern.
Dry brushing may increase frizz and disrupt the natural texture.
DAILY CARE FOR CURLY & TEXTURED HAIR
To refresh the hair:
- Lightly mist the hair with water or a suitable curl refresher.
- Apply a small amount of curl cream or leave-in conditioner if needed.
- Gently scrunch the hair.
- Allow the hair to air-dry.
Avoid excessive touching while the hair is wet, as this may increase frizz.
BEDTIME CARE FOR CURLY & TEXTURED HAIR
Before bed:
- Gently detangle the hair if necessary.
- Gather the hair loosely or create a loose pineapple style, depending on the length and texture.
- Use a satin or silk bonnet, scarf, or pillowcase.
In the morning:
- Gently release the hair.
- Lightly mist the hair with water or a suitable refresher.
- Refresh the curls section by section.
- Gently scrunch and allow the hair to air-dry.

Flexi-rods or other heatless styling methods may be used to create additional waves or curls.
USING HEAT ON YOUR EXTENSIONS
Human hair extensions can generally be styled using heat, but excessive heat can cause dryness and damage.
Always:
- Apply a heat protectant before using hot tools.
- Use the lowest effective temperature.
- Avoid repeatedly applying high heat to the same section.
- Limit frequent heat styling.
Repeated high-heat styling may shorten the lifespan of your extensions.
COLOURING & CHEMICAL PROCESSING
Many human hair extensions can be coloured or chemically processed. However, chemical processing may affect the condition, texture, colour, and longevity of the hair.
We strongly recommend having colouring or chemical services performed by a qualified professional.
Always consider:
- Performing a strand test first.
- The original colour and texture of the hair.
- Whether the hair has been previously processed.
- The potential effects of bleaching or repeated chemical processing.
Bleaching and chemical processing may shorten the lifespan of the hair.
IMPORTANT HAIR CARE TIPS

- Avoid heavy product buildup.
